Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 1066

The scenes of the previous night resurfaced in Amelia's mind. She was so embarrassed that she bit the corner of her blanket.

Gideon did it with her last night. Did that mean he didn't reject her this time?

Amelia's heart started pounding like crazy at the thought. Her mind even started making up various scenes of the happy life she would lead with Gideon in the future.

The sound of the alarm pierced through the air, pulling her back from her thoughts. She endured the pain and soreness she felt as she got up to put on her clothes. Then, she made breakfast for Eli and herself before heading to the drugstore to buy some birth control pills.

When she got on the subway, she opened the project document Gideon had given her the previous night. It wasn't much of a document since it seemed more like a contract.

Gideon would invest in the project, whereas Amelia would establish the accounting firm. In the end, he'd get 70% of the profits, and she'd get 30%.

Amelia couldn't help but admire Gideon for being so thoughtful as to come up with that profit ratio. It seemed like he knew her really well too.

She didn't need to spend a single cent on this project, so she wouldn't have accepted it even if he offered to split the profit 50-50. A profit ratio of 30-70 was just nice, and it was so tempting that she had to accept it.

Accounting was a field that would never become outdated. Although the competition in Jedburgh was intense, the future of the accounting field was still a bright one. If Amelia resigned from her current job and directed her focus and attention solely on opening an accounting firm, she might be even busier in the near future.

However, after the firm started operating smoothly, she was sure that things would get better for her. She wouldn't need to work so hard and spend so much time every day like now to earn just a little bit of money.

Soon, Amelia made up her mind. She would resign and take the risk. She put the document back into her bag and took out her phone.

Once she opened WhatsApp, she messaged Gideon to tell him about her decision, "I've thought it through. I'm going with the plan to open an accounting firm."

When she reached the company, she received a notification. He replied with a simple, "Okay."

Amelia became more determined about resigning today. After punching in and entering the office, she settled all the urgent tasks and some other menial tasks her colleagues tossed to her.

Time passed quickly as she busied herself to finish all of those tasks. When lunch break came, she finally had time to rest. While she ate, she checked her resignation letter again before sending it to her manager.
