"Aren't we supposed to sleep together one last time before we break up?" Bernard asked.
Hera was flabbergasted. "In your dreams!" she snapped.
It was so ridiculous that she couldn't stop herself from laughing.
Bernard then asked, "Does that mean that we aren't breaking up?"
A gleeful smile appeared on his face when he said that. Hera didn't feel like bickering with him. She simply hugged Tiramisu with one arm, grabbed her luggage with the other, and left.
Bernard watched as she left, his heart shattering into a gazillion pieces. He could feel every fiber of his being yelling at him to stop her from leaving.
However, he had made up his mind. He purposely asked her those questions to piss her off because he wouldn't be able to hold back much longer if she stayed.
The moment Hera shut the door, Bernard completely lost control.
Samantha's car came to a halt just as Hera reached the entrance.
"Hera!" Samantha pulled Hera into a bear hug after getting out of the car. "Did Bernard give you a hard time?"
"We'll talk about it once we're on the road." Hera placed her luggage in the trunk and got into the car with Tiramisu in her arms.
Seeing how Hera brought pet food with her, Samantha presumed that she wouldn't go back to Bernard anytime soon.
"Are we going back to my place? You can stay in my condominium on Aspen Avenue. It isn't far from your clinic," Samantha suggested.
It suddenly occurred to Hera that Bernard knew of the place, so she said, "No thanks. Let's head to Jadeite Bay."
Jadeite Bay was a villa residential area between Norbugh and Jedburgh. Upon hearing the request, Samantha entered the address on her car's display.
"Sure," she said. "We'll reach there in an hour. Have you gotten your driver's license? I'll give you a sports car if you pass."
Hera wasn't in the mood for a chat, so she answered absent-mindedly, "I'll take the test when I'm free."
