Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 678

"Don't leave… " Bernard pleaded as he reached for Hera's hand to stop her from leaving.

He was scared. He was afraid that she wouldn't come back to him again if she left this time.

Having just woken up, his face was as pale as a sheet, making anyone who set their eyes on him pity him instantly.

Suppressing her sympathy for him, Hera wrang her hand free from his grasp and left the ward in a hurry.

Instinctively, Bernard got up and tried to go after her, but pain and soreness spread from every inch of his body.

His right hand was bandaged, but the gauze was stained red because he exerted too much force too abruptly just now.

"You have soft tissue damage all over your body. You have to stop moving around," Douglas advised.

Johnson piped in, "That's right. Let her get some rest. She kept you company all night, so she didn't get much sleep. She needs to rest."

If it weren't for Hera last night, Johnson and Douglas might have needed to wait until dawn to bring Bernard down.

Hera didn't leave last night. It meant that she still cared about Bernard. The unease within him subsided a little.

Now that Bernard had calmed down, Felix approached him and said, "Mr. Killian, it's time for another follow-up."

Bernard lifted his eyes to look at Felix, his expression darkening considerably at those words.

Sensing this, Felix explained, "You aren't in a particularly good condition right now. Please come with me to see Sage. If you don't get treatment, you'll end up hurting Ms. Youngworth."

At first, Bernard was against the idea of getting treatment again, but Felix's last sentence hit the bull's eye.

He could recall only snippets of what happened after Hera left last night, but all of them were bad.

Furthermore, he was worried that he'd hurt Hera if he suffered a relapse again.

After contemplating it for a bit, he turned to Douglas and said, "Free up some time for me."

"Okay," said Douglas readily.

Feeling much relieved that Bernard finally agreed to get treatment, Felix turned around and messaged Hera about the good news.

"Ms. Youngworth, Mr. Killian has agreed to it."

Hera had just arrived at the clinic when she got the message.
