Rhett assumed that Bernard was envious of him. He turned to hand the guarantee card to his lawyer. After instructing him to seek out Samson at Astral Nova and handle everything, Rhett calmly sat down.
"All of you can leave. I will not answer any questions as long as no Astral Nova representative is present. Besides, none of you have the right to interrogate me.
"Oh, right. Whatever your name is, give me the latest newspaper before you leave." While speaking, Rhett crossed his legs. He was waiting for an Astral Nova representative to arrive and arrange for his release.
But no one responded to Rhett. He looked up and noticed two staff members had brought two chairs, a small round table, and some coffee mugs into the room.
After Bernard and Joshua took their seats, Joshua began to pour coffee. Rhett saw this and knew that they were playing a long game, but he remained unbothered.
No matter what they asked, Rhett would never answer their questions. In the end, their time would be wasted because of him.
One hour had passed before Rhett's lawyer returned. Seeing that he was alone, Rhett asked, "Where's the representative from Astral Nova? What's going on?"
"Mr. Rhett, Astral Nova said that your guarantee card has been deemed null and void," the lawyer explained.
"What?" Rhett was stunned. "How could that be? Didn't you look for Samson?"
"I did speak to Samson, who personally informed me that your guarantee card is null and void. He even took the card away," the lawyer said.
"But how could the card be void?" Rhett was confused. Tyler had given him that card earlier, saying that the card was from Astral Nova. The card was presented to Rhett because Tyler respected him.
Tyler would never lie to him. Someone must have tampered with the card.
"Did you secretly swap the card?" Rhett suddenly wrapped his hands around his lawyer's neck. Without the guarantee card, he was doomed.
The lawyer was choked to the point where he couldn't breathe. Even his face was turning dark purple.
Joshua never expected Rhett would use a fake guarantee card to scare him. He immediately called for backup to enter and separate Rhett and his lawyer. After that, Joshua personally handcuffed Rhett.
