Douglas noticed Bernard's fury, so he said to the person on the other end of the line, "Take it up a notch."
Not long after he spoke, Frederick's screams grew more agonizing through the video. "Quickly open the door! Let me out!"
Aside from his yells, there were also sounds of him banging on the door. Anyone could tell that he was trapped in a small, dark room.
The small, dark room suddenly made Rhett recall the incident that year. He finally realized that Bernard was referring to Hera. Did she recall what happened?
That couldn't be right. If Hera remembered everything, Bernard wouldn't be here, interrogating him about the incident that year.
Rhett shouldn't have been so softhearted and merely locked up Hera. He should have choked her to death, sending her to hell to meet Daphne.
"Dad! Save me! Save me! Dad!" Frederick's screams sounded far more agonizing, hitting Rhett where it hurt the most.
Rhett glared furiously. "Joshua, you're trying to threaten me! It's the same as torturing me to extract a confession! I'll definitely report you to the higher authorities for misusing your authority for personal reasons!"
Since Rhett refused to confess, Bernard suddenly stood up and coldly ordered, "Take Mr. Rhett away. Let's show him what it truly means to use torture."
"I've already said whatever I had to say 12 years ago. I know nothing. No matter what you do, I know nothing! I won't give in even if it means losing my life!"
Rhett was still swearing while being taken to the small dark room next door. After he was trapped in the small dark room for less than two minutes, the staff came out from the control room and said, "He's willing to talk, Mr. Killian, Chief Olson."
"Bring him here, then," Joshua ordered. He couldn't help but be impressed by Bernard, who set up the small dark room next to the interrogation room.
The room was full of high-tech equipment. Any criminal who entered the room would confess to all their crimes within less than three minutes. That saved a lot of time and manpower for the Special Investigation Department, and it significantly improved the efficiency of managing cases.
The entire Special Investigation Department had no clue what happened after entering the small, dark room. None of them were brave enough to try its terrifying concept.
