"Exactly. The workload at a small branch is nothing like that of the headquarters. Besides, I heard that Harold is the main reason Shuttle Ventures is doing so well," Percy added.
"Harold is indeed capable. Since Bernard will be transferred to the headquarters, Harold will be promoted to the CEO of Shuttle Ventures," Chad said smoothly.
Desmond and Percy faltered at Chad's answer. They wondered what was going on with Chad today. Didn't he dislike Bernard in the past? Why did he want Bernard to return?
Perhaps Chad wanted Bernard to become his spy. Or maybe Chad was making a hasty decision to solve the problem.
If Bernard were to return to the headquarters, Desmond and Percy would definitely suffer under his watch. They quickly cast meaningful looks at the other managers to speak on their behalf.
"I also believe that Mr. Bernard has limited experience. It's not suitable for him to return to the headquarters and take over Mr. Rhett's job immediately. I recommend he start off as a departmental manager."
"I agree. It's too risky for him to take over Mr. Rhett's work right away. Mr. Bernard used to be in the military, so he may not know much about chip development.
"Any experience he has is probably from Shuttle Ventures. He doesn't have any experience of running such a large-scale R&D project. It's too risky for him to become the CEO right away."
"Not only is Hera the key designer behind the new chips, but she's dating Mr. Bernard. If he were to return, that means they'd be leading the project of developing the new chips.
"What if Mr. Bernard becomes swayed by Hera, causing our project to suffer losses? After all, the company has already made a significant investment in the project, and Hera isn't on good terms with Killian Corporation."
"Yeah. We're better off looking for Mr. Frederick to take over Mr. Rhett's job. He should be a better candidate than Mr. Bernard. At least, Mr. Frederick has been assisting Mr. Rhett throughout the project."
"I also believe that Mr. Frederick is more reliable than Mr. Bernard."
Every manager's opinion suggested that they were standing with Rhett and Frederick. Chad did not want to hear them anymore, so he interrupted them right away.
"Enough! It's not up to any of you! I've made my decision. Neil, inform Bernard to report to the headquarters next Monday. That's all for today's meeting. You're all dismissed!"
Neil answered, "Yes, sir."
