Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 918

Was the pasta for Bernard? Did Hera plan to use it to get in his good graces?

He headed for the coffee table. Since he was a little hungry, he sat down and picked up the plate. Although the pasta had gone cold, his heart was filled with warmth.

So, this was what it felt like to have someone waiting for him to come back home.

Bernard finished the pasta with satisfaction and wiped the corners of his mouth. As he got up, he saw Lola staring at him from the corners of his eyes.

"What's up?" he questioned.

Lola replied, "Nothing."

That pasta was supposed to be hers.

Hera lay on the bed. She had been tossing and turning, yet she was unable to fall asleep.

As soon as she finally felt drowsy and was about to fall asleep, the room door suddenly opened.

Bernard entered, wearing a bathrobe. He noticed that the room lights were on and assumed that Hera wasn't asleep yet. Seeing how she was already lying on the bed, a smirk played on his lips.

Before Hera could get up, Bernard pulled the covers off and squeezed onto the bed next to her. He reached out to pull her into his icy embrace.

"The pasta was delicious, but you should remember to heat it up next time." Bernard's warm breath drifted into Hera's ear.

Hera stopped shoving him aside. When did she even cook pasta for him?

She suddenly remembered that she initially intended to get on Lola's good side by offering her pasta. Bernard couldn't have actually eaten it, right?

"Vanta will sign the contract tomorrow," Bernard continued in a low voice. He found a comfortable position as he held Hera tightly in his arms.

Hera let him be after realizing she was unable to struggle out of his embrace. She said nothing, waiting for him to continue.

After some time, he didn't say a word, prompting her to ask, "So?"

There was no response. She turned to see that Bernard had actually fallen asleep with her in his embrace.
