Elinor shivered in fear, losing her ability to move for a moment. Victor looked at her fiercely, as if he was going to kill her, "Can't you hear me? Fuck off?"
Elinor wiped off her tears and fled in haste, escaping from the bathroom. She looked like she was running away from a hunter, thin and staggering.
Back in her room, Elinor covered herself with a quilt. Then she cried out, like a cat that had finally gotten a place to vent its frustration. Her cries were so suppressed but sad, as if she had just escaped from a life-and-death crisis... The usual Elinor would never make such a sound.
She tried to treat the world with her goodwill. Even if the world had always given her malice, she still tried to make pace with other people's hatred against her. She wanted to wash away her original sins with her hard work.
However, she only got hate and blows from the world.
She didn't know what she had done wrong. Perhaps being born as Maria's daughter was here an original sin. She was born to beg for forgiveness for Maria's sins. She gritted her teeth and held back the rest of her voice. But so many memories swept through her mind, crushing her last sanity.
Elinor hugged herself and slowly shrank into a ball, like a fetus in its mother's womb, protecting itself. She tried to cut off every link with the outside world.
She cried repressively and finally whimpered with difficulty and pain...
"Maria... I hate you..."
She wanted to forget that Maria Evans was her mother. She didn't want to be linked with her.
She hated Maria for making her a sinner when she was born. And she hated Maria for doing so many horrible things that made her have no way to live like a normal girl.
The night was long, and the dawn was hard to come.
...
When Victor got up in the morning, he felt like he had a dream.
