When Her Death Couldn't Break Him (Cecilia and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 1254

Chapter 1254 Getting Sued
Cecilia didn't want the two young children to worry about her.

Elliot, however, patted his own chest with a serious look on his face. “No way, Mommy. Jon and I are your sons, so it's our duty to protect you.”

Upon hearing those words, Cecilia couldn't help but smile.

At the entrance, three women couldn't help but feel envious.

“I've always been afraid of having children, but seeing Eli and Jon, I've realized that having children is truly wonderful,” Charlotte said.

Madeline's face was filled with joy as she held her daughter. “Indeed, they are like angels. I do hope my little girl grows up quickly.”

Lucille nodded in agreement from the side.

She had always been fearful of marriage and having children. At that moment, however, as she watched the interaction between Cecilia and Elliot, her fears seemed to lessen.

“Why are you all here?” Only then did Cecilia notice their arrival and invite them to come in and sit.

“We were just curious about what on earth Eli was up to, whisking you off to the room so mysteriously,” Charlotte replied.

Cecilia told them to come closer, and they all soon found out it was all about providing clarification.

Everyone's admiration for Cecilia grew. Her son was not only sensible but also well-behaved.

The situation escalated online afterward. Cassandra had initially hired a considerable number of ghostwriters to badmouth Cecilia. Ironically, she ended up reaping what she sowed.

Everyone began to question the authenticity of certain matters.

Elliot's fans were not to be trifled with, and they promptly responded to the various rumors in the comments section.

Cassandra was absolutely livid, and she didn't get a wink of sleep all night.

Had she known earlier, she wouldn't have bothered. With the sheer amount of rumors, people were bound to stop believing them.

Yet, at that moment, a phone call came through.

“Ms. Evans, many of our accounts have been sued,” Riley reported to Cassandra.

Nicholas, clad in a suit, walked in, his body radiating exhaustion.

Cassandra, fearing he might discover something, immediately hung up the phone.

“Nicholas, you're back,” she said, her eyes curving with a smile. Yet, she couldn't quite conceal the hint of panic lurking in their depths.

Nicholas saw her actions but chose not to call her out. Instead, he took a seat on the couch opposite her.

“What have you been busy with lately?” he asked calmly.

Cassandra was feeling a bit uneasy. “I haven't been up to much. As you know, I can't dance now that I'm pregnant. I've just been choreographing some dance steps and teaching the rookies.”

“It's good that you're not busy. After all, you're pregnant. You need to consider the child in your belly more.”

“I know.” Cassandra nodded repeatedly, daring not to meet Nicholas' gaze.

Nicholas rose, intending to retire to the bedroom for some rest. However, Cassandra couldn't help but ask him, “Nicholas, have you seen the news online?”
