When Her Death Couldn't Break Him novel Chapter 1255

Chapter 1255 Grown Up
Nicholas paused in his tracks, his eyes reflecting calmness. “I've seen it, but I'm not sure which media outlets are taking things out of context.”

“Yeah. Cecilia took you to the hospital, and they actually just made up stories,” said Cassandra.

Nicholas turned to look at her. “The photo isn't clear. How do you know it was Cecilia who took me to the hospital?”

Cassandra's face stiffened, and she hesitated for a moment before explaining, “Jocelyn was the one who told me, asking me not to misunderstand.”

Nicholas still didn't expose her. “Okay. If there's nothing else, I'm going to rest now.”

“All right.”

Cassandra watched him ascend the stairs, only allowing her heart to settle after a considerable delay.

She returned to her room, continuing to fixate on the news online, barely managing to get any sleep that night.

Contrarily, Cecilia, who Cassandra had falsely accused, slept well that night. When she felt tired, she simply went to sleep, experiencing no trouble finding rest.

Cecilia had suffered from depression before. She understood the significance of both mental and physical health. She had already handed over matters to Charlotte and the others to deal with. All she had to do was wait patiently.

There was no need to be upset over those groundless rumors circulating online. If she were to get upset, she would just be playing right into Cassandra's hands.

The following day, it was Magnus' phone call that roused Cecilia from her sleep.

After a long period of no contact, for some unknown reason, Magnus suddenly called her that day.

“Cecilia, my lawsuit with Ralph is over. I've won.” Over the phone, Magnus' voice was filled with excitement.

Upon hearing that, Cecilia couldn't help but feel elated. “That's fantastic! From now on, you should manage the company well.”

“Yes. All right.” Magnus seemed to recall something and added, “Cecilia, don't worry about the news online. It will die down in a few days.”

Regarding the incidents online, Cecilia hadn't anticipated that Magnus would actually comfort her.

She felt somewhat relieved. “Don't worry. I'm not concerned.”

“That's good to hear. I have to get to work now. Remember, you can always reach out to me if anything comes up. I'm still your little brother, after all.”
