Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 189

Vanessa smiled warmly and said, "I'm here with my best friend to attend her mother-in-law's birthday celebration."

As she spoke, she playfully tugged on Mrs. Foster's arm, pleading, "Sweetie, since you're the daughter-in-law, could you also let Brian come in with us?"

Brian? The way she called his name so affectionately suggested she had a soft spot for him.

Mrs. Foster chuckled and gave Vanessa's hand a gentle pat. Then, turning to the security guard with a serious expression, she said, "Aberdeen is my mother-in-law. Are you really going to stop me from entering?"

The guard quickly switched to a friendlier demeanor upon hearing this. "Of course, I wouldn't dare stop anyone from the Foster family. However, proper procedure still needs to be followed. Since you're part of the Foster family, you should have an invitation, right?"

Mrs. Foster, not wasting any words, retrieved a golden invitation from her purse.

While other guests had red invitations, those belonging to the Foster family were gold. The guard, after carefully inspecting it, immediately displayed a servile smile and said, "Madam, please, go right ahead."

Mrs. Foster tilted her chin up slightly, exuding an air of superiority. "These two are friends I've invited. They'll be coming in with me."

The guard hesitated for a moment. But considering Brian’s acquaintance with the Fosters, he assumed it would be fine even without an invitation.

Reluctantly, he stepped aside, allowing Vanessa, Mrs. Foster, and Brian to enter the hotel.

As they stepped into the grand ballroom, they were greeted by the dazzling lights and the lively buzz of conversation.

Majestic chandeliers cast a soft glow over the guests' elegant attire and sparkling jewelry.

Brian maintained a stoic expression, his eyes scanning the room for connections that might benefit the Cole Corporation.

Suddenly, he spotted a few familiar business associates and, without a second thought, grabbed a drink from a nearby waiter and headed into the crowd.

Meanwhile, Vanessa, arm in arm with Mrs. Foster, searched the room. Yet, no matter how hard she looked, she couldn't find the tall, handsome figure she was hoping to see.

Once everything was perfectly in place, the two women gracefully exited the room.

As fate would have it, they ran into Vanessa the moment they stepped out.

Vanessa's expression soured instantly upon seeing Claire. She had come with high hopes of seeing Sean, never expecting to encounter Claire instead.

Claire, in her pink tulle gown, looked every bit like a princess from a fairy tale, glowing under the lights.

The dress, with its cascading layers, seemed like whimsical clouds floating around her.

Claire's face, enhanced by exquisite makeup, shone with an enchanting beauty. Her skin was silky smooth, with a faint blush, and her lips, painted a vibrant cherry red, were full and perfectly contoured. A subtle smile played on her lips, captivating anyone who glanced her way.

A few playful strands of hair fell over her forehead, complementing her delicate hairpiece, and accentuating her radiant charm.
