"Sherilyn, you really are more unbearable than I thought!"
Caroline crossed her arms, cutting them off coldly. "Why do you always have to torment Gilbert like this? Do you enjoy it?"
What?
Sherilyn was taken aback, her gaze sharp as she stared at Caroline.
"Me, tormenting him?"
Sherilyn scoffed, "This is like the pot calling the kettle black! I'm leaving, so you can make your confessions and acceptances as you please!"
At her words, both Gilbert and Caroline stiffened – Sherilyn had heard their entire conversation!
Gilbert, now realizing the awkwardness of the situation, wasn't sure why Caroline had said what she did.
"Sherilyn..." Gilbert grabbed her arm, reluctant to let go.
"Aren't you going to let go?"
Sherilyn looked at him amusedly, "I've already said, big bro is with Rebecca White now, it's your chance, isn't it?"
"It's not like that!"
Gilbert, flustered, his voice deep and hoarse, "I've told you, I only want you..."
He only wanted Sherilyn? He actually said that?
Caroline's eyes trembled slightly, a crack appearing in her composure.
With a forced smile, she abruptly interrupted, addressing Sherilyn, "So, you're causing a scene because of what I said?"
Glancing at Gilbert with a cool tone, she continued, "I did have a moment with Gilbert, but it was just a jest. We were both dealing with breakups, got carried away, and said things without thinking..."
Gilbert, hearing this, felt a bit more grounded and eagerly looked at Sherilyn.
"You heard her? Caroline was just joking."
