"I'm here today to tell you that we've found a witness. You're going to be sued for making a false accusation!"
With a glance at her assistant, she said, "Let's go!"
"Mom!" Yuna sobbed, clutching onto Malvina. "What are we going to do? You were the one who insisted I sue her!"
"Be quiet!"
Malvina was thoroughly exasperated. Yes, it was her idea to sue Sherilyn, but she never expected a witness to emerge!
"All you ever do is cry!"
"And now you're yelling at me? Hey! Don't you walk away!"
Yuna, overwhelmed and desperate, shouted after Edwin Morris, "It wasn't my idea to sue, it was my mom's! It was all her doing!"
"Yuna!" Malvina shook with anger. "Shut your mouth! Who do you think I'm doing this for?"
Upon hearing this, Edwin Morris quickly turned back. "Ms. Martin, think carefully! This isn't a joke. You're the one who will be held responsible, not your mother!"
"I'll speak!"
Yuna, her throat dry, managed to say, "Sherilyn didn't push me! I tried to grab her, missed, and lost my balance. That's how I fell..."
"The witness said the same thing!"
Edwin Morris, as serious as ever, added, "Ms. Martin, you still have time to withdraw the lawsuit. Once the court schedules a hearing and the witness testifies, it'll be too late."
"Alright!"
Yuna, terrified and disoriented, had no choice but to agree. "I withdraw the lawsuit! Right now!"
...
After Yuna withdrew her lawsuit, Sherilyn was still in the hospital, but her fever had finally broken.
Edwin Morris, having completed the necessary paperwork at the police station, hurried over to update her.
"That's the situation, Ms. Gomez. If you're feeling alright, you can go home now."
Hearing the full story, Sherilyn pondered, "So, there was a witness that day?"
"Yes." Edwin Morris nodded, smiling. "We were fortunate to have that witness."
