Gilbert was momentarily at a loss, unable to do anything about her.
"Sherilyn."
Edgar looked down at her, his voice gentle and patient, "You've been out all afternoon. Don't you miss Jenna? When I left, she hadn't eaten yet and said she wanted to wait for mommy."
Sherilyn opened her mouth but couldn't maintain her facade any longer.
"Let's go back, okay?"
Sherilyn silently nodded.
"Let's go."
Edgar, holding an umbrella in one hand and supporting Sherilyn with the other, began walking forward.
Gilbert, frowning, followed them.
Their cars were parked outside the gate as the neighborhood didn't allow outside vehicles in.
It had been raining all day, and the rain showed no signs of stopping.
Edgar held the umbrella, tilting it entirely towards Sherilyn, shielding her completely while he himself was almost entirely drenched.
Gilbert watched silently, suppressing his emotions, and got into the car.
In the Pagani, Edgar glanced in the rearview mirror, frowning in confusion.
"Where's Gilbert off to? Isn't he coming to the hospital with us?"
Upon hearing this, Sherilyn glanced at the rearview mirror.
She saw Gilbert's black Bentley turning around, heading in the completely opposite direction.
Sherilyn looked away, leaning back, shaking her head, "I don't know."
But she had a suspicion; he was probably off to see Caroline.
They were lovers; it wasn't wrong for him to see Caroline, but at this moment!
Regardless of their relationship, she thought, at least he truly cared for Jenna…
But it turns out, even blood ties and familial love can't outweigh the one he cherishes in his heart!
Sherilyn closed her eyes, pondering, with no leads from following Malvina, what else could she do?
"Sherilyn."
Edgar glanced at her, cautiously starting, "On my way here, I asked some people for help…"
