"You should get going then," Sherilyn smiled back, "I'm free tonight, so you can come by later if that works for you."

"Sure thing."

Gilbert studied her quietly; she indeed didn't seem troubled.

As soon as Gilbert left and the hospital room door closed behind him, Sherilyn's forced composure crumbled.

She was putting on an act.
