What is this?
Every word, every sentence—he didn't say it outright, but every word, every sentence was a farewell to her! This was his plan for life after saying goodbye to her.
"Ha, hahaha..." Caroline suddenly burst into laughter, louder and louder.
"Ms. Bennett?" Charles approached upon hearing her, concern etched on his face. "Are you alright?"
"Alright?"
Caroline abruptly stopped laughing, her gaze icy as she stared straight ahead. Her voice was calm, as if nothing had happened, "I'm perfectly fine."
But deep down, she knew that from now on, she was on her own. Gilbert had such a cruel heart; he just left her behind, not even bothering to say goodbye in person!

Just after seven, Gilbert left the Harrison Group headquarters.
"Mr. Nine, where to?"
"To..."
Gilbert gave an address. Sherilyn was attending a script reading session for a new play today, and he was going to pick her up. Of course, Sherilyn hadn't told him this herself. It was Blake who had let the information slip.
A taxi pulled out from a side street.
"Follow that Bentley."
"Sure thing."

After the meeting, Sherilyn walked out of the main entrance and immediately spotted Gilbert standing by the car door.
"Sherilyn!"
Sherilyn was momentarily taken aback but quickly realized that him knowing her whereabouts was a piece of cake for him.
