Gilbert just shook his head, clearly befuddled. He had just arrived and was completely out of the loop.

The girl scoffed, pointing an accusing finger at Gilbert.

"In Sunhaven, who doesn't know that Mr. Gilbert, our very own Mr. Nine, has his heart set on Caroline!"

Sherilyn paused, taking a moment to process this. Was this girl here because of Caroline?

She glanced at Gilbert, an eyebrow raised, a small smile playing on her lips. "See, the whole of Sunhaven knows."

"Sherilyn..." Gilbert frowned.

He had explained himself more times than he could count, yet it never seemed enough.

As they exchanged looks, the girl's indignation only grew.

"Shameless woman! It's you! You're the one who, with your cunning wiles, stole Caroline's man!”

Sherilyn shifted her focus back to the girl, “You're a friend of Caroline's...?”

“Yes! I'm her fan! A friend she's had in spirit for ages!"

A fan? Sherilyn was at a loss. Were fans really this... fervent nowadays?

Overflowing with righteous anger, the fan's voice rose with every word.

"You've already taken her lover, and now you're stealing her endorsements too! I've never seen someone as shameless as you! Can't you live without taking things from others?"
