Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change? novel Chapter 928

Last night, his hand was on her just like this...

"Have another sip of soup..."

And so, Gilbert alternated between spoonfuls of soup and bites of dumplings, feeding Sherilyn until she was nearly full.

"I'm stuffed."

"There are just two left." Gilbert glanced at the bottom of the bowl. "Finish them?"

"No, thanks." Sherilyn frowned and shook her head. "I really can't eat anymore."

"Alright then..."

Gilbert didn't push her further. He picked up the thermos, finishing off the soup and dumplings himself.

When he put the thermos down, he found Sherilyn staring at him with wide eyes.

"What's up?" he asked, puzzled.

Sherilyn furrowed her brows. "Why do you always eat my leftovers?"

It wasn't just this time.

"What's the problem?" Gilbert raised an eyebrow. "Haven't I had your germs before?"

His comment made Sherilyn recall the night before...

Her cheeks flushed even more, thankfully concealed by her makeup. But facing him was unavoidably awkward.

"Aren't you busy? Don't you need to head back downtown?"

"I do."

Gilbert nodded, tidying up the thermos.

"I'm leaving now. The catering at the set might not suit your taste. I've arranged things with the hotel kitchen; have your assistant pick up your meals when it's time."

He would have arranged a nutritionist for her if he could, but Sherilyn hadn't even fully accepted him, let alone his arrangements.

For now, this would have to do.

Gilbert stood up. "I should go."

He looked at her reluctantly. "Won't you see me off? Once I leave, it might be years."

"Huh?" Sherilyn was taken aback. Years?

Gilbert's eyes sparkled. "To me, every day without seeing you feels like an eternity."

"..."
