"You're really getting the hang of it."
Rebecca White said with a cheery smile, gently patting his chubby cheeks, "James, you're so smart. Finished all your homework already?"
Glancing at the clock, they were twenty minutes ahead of schedule.
It wasn't quite time for her to clock out yet.
"What do you want to do next, James?"
Pondering for a moment, James tilted his head, "Ms. White, can we play hide and seek?"
"Hide and seek?"
Rebecca White thought for a moment but didn't decline, "Sure, why not."
Since James was still quite young, Francis had mentioned there was no need for extra tasks. If they had some free time, playing was perfectly fine.
"So, who's going to be 'it'?"
"James!" James said with a wide grin, "I'll hide and you seek, okay?"
"Alright then."
James scurried off, and in a short while, came back with a men's silk scarf, waving it at Rebecca White.
"Ms. White, bend down. I'll cover your eyes!"
"Okay."
Rebecca White crouched down in front of him with a smile.
As the scarf covered her eyes, she caught a familiar scent.
It dawned on her belatedly that this scarf must belong to Francis.
In the moments she couldn't see, it was this scent that enveloped her...
Just like him, gentle and serene, yet impossible to ignore.
She still hadn't figured out why Francis was so attentive to her...
"Ms. White!"
Suddenly, James's voice rang out, "I'm hidden now, come find me!"
"Alright."
With her eyes covered, Rebecca White stood up, moving cautiously, feeling around.
Muttering to herself, "Where could James be? Not here, not there either..."
"Giggle..."
