Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change? novel Chapter 968

Sherilyn's eyes flickered with shock.

Even though she knew Gilbert had made a huge sacrifice... But to say it was her fault? That was just nonsense.

"Ha."

Naylor chuckled dismissively, continuing on his own narrative.

"I've always said, trouble comes with pretty faces... but he wouldn't listen. Well..."

He turned his gaze towards Sherilyn.

"If you weren't stirring things up, how could you be considered trouble, right?"

"Mr. Harrison..." Sherilyn furrowed her brows, trying to argue.

"But what can you do?"

Naylor ignored her protest. "He just can't let you go, and that's fine. After all, everyone has their obsessions in life, no?"

Huh? Sherilyn blinked in confusion, what was he implying?

"Since he's so hung up on you, you better stay by his side from now on."

What? Sherilyn was taken aback, her head snapping up.

Naylor stood up, a sly smile playing on his lips, "Do you have any idea how busy Nine is on a daily basis? If you can't help him, at least don't cause him more trouble."

He said, "At my age, having a son like him is all I've got. If you can keep it together, keep him happy, I might just tolerate you. Otherwise... well, you better think hard about your next steps!"

With that, he turned and left.

Sherilyn sat alone on the bench, trying to digest Naylor's words... her fists clenched tightly!

Two hours later.

The surgery was over.

"Doctor." Naylor led the way, "How's my son?"

"Mr. Harrison, don't worry."

The doctor said, "He was brought in on time, and the severed finger was well preserved. Since it was a clean cut, the wound was neat..."
