Joshua put the phone down and took his phone out to call Alice.
The moment the call got through, a familiar ring tone came from the entrance of the elevator at the end of the corridor.
Joshua subconsciously turned to look.
A tear-streaked Alice looked panicked as she rushed over frantically. “Is Neil and Nellie alright? Why did they have to come for a body checkup?“
Seeing Alice’s tear-streaked and worried look, a layer of detest washed over Joshua.
When he went back home to pick up Neil and Nellie, he even deliberately asked Lily whether Alice knew that the kids suffered the night before.
“After you left last night, Mrs. Lynch entered the room and never came out again. This morning, once she got up, she headed straight down for breakfast and left straight away.“
Lily’s voice still rang in Joshua’s ears. “After making Neil and Nellie drink milk, she never stepped foot in the children’s room anymore.“
Joshua looked at Alice walking over with teary eyes, and he suddenly felt miserable.
She was someone whom he loved deeply; he waited six whole years for her to return to him. However, when she finally did, he realized she had changed tremendously. She was much different than the Luna Gibson he remembered.
Even at that moment, when he looked at her tears, he could not differentiate if they were real tears or fake ones.
Alice kept saying that she was Neil and Nellie’s biological mother and how the loss of her children for the past six years almost cost her her life.
At that moment, it was her time to spend quality time with her children, but it was only a week yet he already saw her aloofness and impatience toward them.
That was not how a mother who missed their children should act.
“Joshua.“
When he saw her, Alice ran up to him and stood before him. “Joshua, how are the kids? I just reached home when Lily said that you and Lucas took the kids to the hospital.“

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
