Chapter 259 Most Afraid of Insects 

After a brief conversation, Charlotte hung up. 

The doctor came to check on Ava and inquire into her present condition and feelings. She grinned and started chatting with him. 

She asked him how old he was, if he had a wife, how old his children were, and so on… 

She didn’t look like a patient with a fracture at all. 

Charlotte watched the scene with complete relief. Then, she bought breakfast and came back to eat. 

There were no major problems with Ava’s leg, and she would be released from the hospital within two days to rest at home and would only need to return for a checkup in three months. 

Charlotte remembered it all very clearly. 

Ava glanced at her and said, “You don’t have to remember. You won’t be here for long.” 

Charlotte asked, “What if I live here?” 

“What? Are you going to leave your husband and son?” Ava stared at her.

Pete said, “The reason I opened the shop was to be free. I can open or close it at will.” 

“You’ve been carefree since childhood, and now you don’t have a wife yet, right?” Ava knew how to touch his sore spot. 

Pete begged helplessly, “Ava, can you please not talk about this? Do you 

still want the ruby pendant?” 

Ava took a fancy to a ruby pendant of a rose. Pete was a craftsman. He would carve it for her for free as long as she provided a ruby. 

She nodded immediately. “Yes. I won’t talk about it. It’s great that you’re here. Accompany me to get some fresh air outside.”

Pete gazed at Charlotte and asked, “How was your sleep last night?”

“I can tell that you look much better than before,” Pete chuckled. 

Charlotte nodded. Staring at Ava’s smiling face, she felt warm and at the same time panicked. 

But at that moment, Pete suddenly whispered, “Stay still.” 

Startled, Charlotte asked in confusion, “What’s wrong?” 

Pete approached her, slowly extending his hand and making a quick move in the next second. She only felt her hair being ruffled, and then he pinched a green insect and showed it to her. 

Charlotte screamed in fear and ran away!
