Charlotte coughed violently as she drank her soup, choking on it after hearing Evie’s teasing remark. 

Evie couldn’t hold back her laughter. She patted Charlotte’s back and said, “Why are you so worked up? That’s a possibility, you 

know.” 

Sebastian, looking puzzled, asked, “What’s going on? What did you two talk about? Why is her reaction so intense?” 

Charlotte quickly waved her hand as if trying to stop the conversation. It was something she definitely wasn’t going to tell 

anyone. 

After finally calming down, she looked at Evie helplessly and said, “Shut up, please.” 

The latter innocently blinked her big eyes, then mimed zipping her lips with a playful gesture. 

Charlotte sighed helplessly. Her marriage was a tangled mess. How could she think about anything else? 

Besides, she and Pete were just friends. 

“Mr. Harrison is here!” At that moment, someone suddenly exclaimed, and the crowd in the banquet hall turned their attention to the door.

The attendants opened the large doors, and there, stepping through them, was Arthur, dressed in a black custom–made suit. His tall frame exuded an imposing aura. His face, strikingly handsome and sharply defined as if carved by a divine hand, carried a cold, aloof expression. 

His eyes, though deep and full of unspoken emotions, were clouded with indifference as he swept his gaze over the room. His eyes then locked on Charlotte, and with a few long strides, he walked directly toward her. 

“I received Mr. Harrison’s invitation, but when I arrived, I didn’t see him. I thought he wasn’t coming.” 

“How could he not come? Today is the grand opening of Mrs. Harrison’s studio. Despite his busy schedule, Mr. Harrison surely made time to attend.” 

“Mr. and Mrs. Harrison really are such a loving couple.” 

The chatter continued in the background. 

As she watched the tall man approach, Evie couldn’t help but sneer softly, “Does he really need to make such a show? Who asked him to send invitations?” 

A hint of surprise flashed across Charlotte’s eyes. 

She was still processing the fact that all those prominent figures had come because of his invitation.

Just as she was lost in thought, a magnetic and chilling voice cut through the noise. “Move.” 

On her left was Evie, and on her right was Sebastian. 

Arthur was standing in front of Evie as he said that. 

Evie blinked innocently. “Why don’t you ask Sebastian to move?” 

On the opposite side, Barrett, who had been watching the interaction with amusement, chuckled, “He’s Charlotte’s brother. There’s no way Arthur would ask him to move.” 

Gideon, with a sarcastic tone, chimed in, “It’s not like we’ve prepared a seat for you, so why even show up?” 

Arthur glanced at him coldly. 

Barrett raised his eyebrows and offered a thumbs–up to Gideon. “You’ve really got guts!” 

Gideon pushed his glasses with a smile and said, “If you don’t prick his heart, he won’t realize the reality.” 

Evie met Arthur’s gaze and shrank her neck, thinking to herself, “This man’s gaze is so fierce! I’ll offer my seat to him!” 

With a face full of grievances, she stood up, and Arthur directly sat in her seat. He looked at Charlotte and said, “Congratulations on your grand opening.”
