Ava pressed on. “I heard you’re marrying into a common family. Does that mean you’ll do all the cooking, cleaning, and housework after marriage?”
“I’ll arrange for household staff to go with them. Someone will be there to care for the newlyweds,” Camille replied.
“Absolutely not!” Ava retorted, bristling with disapproval. “There’s no reason for a married daughter to be subsidized by her family. It would be better to have that man move in with
us!”
Camille was struggling to maintain her composure. She sighed and asked, “Mom, what do you want?”
