A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 130

Melody went silent. She had no answer.

Krystal's gaze remained indifferent as she continued, "Maybe you in nursing need that so-called empathy, but for us doctors, experience and a zero-error rate are what really matter."

She said it lightly, but there was an almost imperceptible trace of condescension.

That hint of disdain made Melody uncomfortable. Her brows furrowed slightly as she tried to speak up in response.

But Jeremy interrupted, "Krystal, the CT scan for Bed 12 hasn't been reviewed yet. You should go take care of that."

Krystal glanced at Melody expressionlessly, then turned and left.

Jeremy didn't leave. He looked down at Melody as if trying to figure something out. After a moment, he finally asked, "Instead of wasting time on meaningless things like this, why don't you think about how to do your job better?"

He was a complete perfectionist. In his eyes, making a mistake in one's work was just plain stupid.

However, since this situation didn't affect him, it wasn't his concern. In fact, to him, all this discussion felt pointless and a waste of time.

The emotions Melody had just barely held back in front of Krystal snapped completely. A tear slipped from the corner of her eye as she looked at Jeremy, her pain written all over her face, her eyes filled with shattered light.

"To you, everything I do is meaningless, isn't it? Just a waste of your time. Because I'm not as smart as you. I'm dumb. I'm just a lowly nurse, right?

"But Jeremy, I get hurt too. I feel pain too. I'm not stupid. I just…"

"Just love you" was the sentence she didn't finish. Instead, she turned and walked away. Everything she'd been bottling up these past few days exploded all at once. Tears wouldn't stop streaming down her face, but she didn't dare let anyone see.

She kept her head down and walked quickly, but as she turned a corner, she accidentally bumped into someone.
