In a deep voice, Jeremy said, "Not a chance. Ophelia's very fond of you. Moreover, I'm the one to be blamed here. I dragged you down."
But even after Jeremy's assurance, Melody was still so wracked with nerves that she didn't say anything else for the whole way home.
Suddenly, she received a text from Ophelia.
Ophelia reminded her to take a morning-after pill if she didn't want to get pregnant before getting married. She'd even sent Melody some pocket money and told her not to be afraid of anything.
Only then did Melody allow herself to relax.
As Jeremy drove them back to the apartment, she asked in a puzzled tone, "Aren't we going to the hospital?" She remembered that he was working the day shift that day.
Jeremy tapped the steering wheel and responded, "I took the day off. I need to get things done in the apartment."
"What do you mean?"
Jeremy looked at Melody. There weren't any signs of emotion on his face, but there were some unusual emotions in his eyes. "I need to clean the place up and rearrange the daily essentials."
"Huh?"
But Jeremy didn't speak again until they were inside the apartment. He said, "I'm moving your stuff into the master bedroom."
However, Melody still didn't understand what was going on. So, Jeremy explained, "I have no idea what being in a relationship means, but what I do know is that couples stay together."
It took Melody a while to finally get what Jeremy meant, but when she did, something fluttered in her heart.
Nevertheless, she didn't respond to him.
Jeremy frowned slightly, and his gaze deepened when she didn't give him any reaction. He then briefly paused before turning around and going into her room.
Melody followed him inside and moved her things into the master bedroom. As she did so, Jeremy stared at her, and panic slowly ate Melody up on the inside because of it.
Jeremy's room had felt bland and empty before, but now, it suddenly had a touch of warmth and coziness after Melody moved her things inside.
