A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 161

Melody was slow to react to Jeremy's sudden change. She stared at him, but words just wouldn't come to her.

Meanwhile, Jeremy was perfectly calm. In truth, this was only because he had already thought long and hard about this in advance the previous night. He felt that since he'd made a promise to her, it was his duty to satisfy her every need and fulfill her requests.

He said, "I've never been in a relationship before, and my job means that I can never spend all my time on you, but you can tell me what I have to do to make you happy. I will do anything you want as long as it isn't too outrageous."

Melody was dumbstruck. For a moment, she didn't understand what Jeremy was thinking.

Just as she was about to pop the question, her phone unexpectedly rang. It was Alexis.

She then turned around and answered the phone on the balcony.

Alexis' voice came through on the phone, "Surprise, it's me! Congratulations, you future model. Another beauty magazine snagged your pictures. Also, someone asked me if you're open to a photoshoot."

Melody's heart finally eased up after a whole day of tension. She asked, "Really?"

"Mm-hmm, I wouldn't lie to you. The beauty magazine company was kind of good, and I've worked with them a couple of times. I agreed to it on your behalf. I'll send you the payment and contract later.

"As for the photoshoot, you can decide. Anyway, it'll be done by a well-known portrait photographer in Jembina."

Melody repeatedly nodded, and it only belatedly occurred to her that Alexis couldn't see her. So, she hurriedly said, "I'll take it!"

Melody was broke now, so it'd be best if she could make some money as soon as possible.

After confirming the details with Alexis, she hung up the phone.

According to what Alexis had said, the photo copyright fee was 20 thousand dollars, and the photoshoot itself was ten thousand dollars. That would bring it to a total of 30 thousand dollars.

When Jeremy came out, he saw Melody on the balcony. She was smiling, looking as graceful and lovely as ever.

There was something magical about her. It was like his heart would be at ease whenever he got close to her.

Just then, Jeremy received a text.

It was from Caleb. He was urging him to get back to their department and take his shift.

For the first time ever, Jeremy rejected it.
