A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 180

Jeremy didn't go straight to the study. Instead, he went to take a shower first.

His germophobia was a trauma response. His therapist had said that it would be difficult to overcome it unless he could get to the root of the issue.

Melody hadn't expected this to happen either. She ignored her bad cramps and changed all the bed sheets before carefully washing the soiled ones. Then, she got back into bed.

But by then, she was no longer sleepy. She didn't know if it was because of the tea or because of the cramps.

In the end, she decided to get up and make herself a warm cup of milk with some ginger infused in it.

Just then, the door to the study opened, and Jeremy walked out wearing his light gray pajamas. His gaze fell on Melody.

Because of the pain, Melody's face looked a little pale, and even her lips had lost their color.

She thought that she had disturbed Jeremy, so she said softly, "I'll keep it down."

Jeremy's handsome face remained expressionless as he looked at her and asked, "Do you need to go to the hospital and get checked out?" He was a doctor, after all. He didn't think menstrual pains would resolve themselves by just suffering through them.

The tension in Melody's body eased a little when she heard his concern for her. "It's okay. I'm already feeling a bit better," she softly answered.

Jeremy didn't press the matter. "If it gets worse, you can tell me," he simply said.

Melody didn't have a chance to respond before she heard Jeremy continue, "I'll have someone replace the bed tomorrow. You can go stay in the guest room again for the time being."

Melody froze. She didn't quite understand what he meant.

Jeremy saw the confusion in her eyes, and he carefully deliberated his next words before saying, "You should know that I'm very particular about my things. So, you can sleep alone in your room for the next few days."

Basically, he was saying that he didn't want Melody touching his new bed, or more specifically, he was worried that she'd dirty his belongings again.
