"Dr. Finnigan's hand was propped on the desk because of her bad ankle, but Ms. Wardolf isn't feeling well either, so she probably wanted to steady herself.
"She happened to press her hand against Dr. Finnigan's. Then, Dr. Finnigan twisted her ankle again when trying to get away. But it seems like Ms. Wardolf bumped her stomach into the desk too," Caleb explained.
He could feel a headache coming on just from explaining the sequence of events. He was already feeling awkward because of the voting incident involving Melody and Krystal. Not to mention, it was hard to determine who was at fault here now too.
Melody was in so much pain that she was breaking out in a cold sweat. The combination of the external impact and her menstrual cramps was becoming rather unbearable.
Jeremy glanced at Krystal before turning to look at Melody. Coincidentally, Melody raised her eyes to look at him at the same time.
Her eyelashes were damp with tears, and her eyes were red-rimmed. Beads of cold sweat were also visible against her pale complexion.
Jeremy frowned, and emotions fluttered through his eyes.
He knew Melody didn't handle pain well. She would easily tear up anytime she bumped into anything. Moreover, judging from last night, it appeared that her menstrual cramps this time around were particularly painful.
He was about to say something when he heard Krystal say with a trembling voice, "Jeremy, I don't think I can move my foot."
Jeremy stilled, and his gaze immediately turned to Krystal. "Don't move. I'll call someone from orthopedics," he sternly said.
Cold sweat beaded on Krystal's forehead too. She looked at Jeremy and said in a hoarse voice, "Can you come help me? I don't think I can keep standing like this."
When Caleb heard this, he hurriedly said, "Get over here, Jeremy! I'll contact orthopedics."
Jeremy hummed in agreement. Then, without any hesitation, he went to hold Krystal's arm so she could lean on him for support.
Krystal closed her eyes and softly said, "I'm feeling a little nervous, and when I get nervous, it helps to see a familiar face."
Jeremy didn't respond, but right then, he heard a very soft voice call out, "Jeremy."
He looked over and saw Melody clutching her abdomen while looking at him through teary eyes.
Her voice was hushed but clear. "My abdomen hurts."
Melody really didn't look well, but Jeremy couldn't leave Krystal alone now either. If he moved, Krystal would lose her balance, which could potentially cause a secondary injury. Moreover, injuries to the bone were of a more serious concern as well.
