A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 205

If Melody still couldn't detect Cassie's blatant provocation at this point, she would've been genuinely foolish.

However, instead of responding to Cassie, she turned and looked at Jeremy. Her eyelashes fluttered slightly before she slowly asked, "Jeremy, what exactly is this supposed to mean?" Her fists tightened as a suffocating feeling swiftly rose in her chest.

Ever since they'd arrived at the hotel, Cassie's behavior toward Jeremy had been a little too attentive. Initially, Melody had assumed that Jeremy had agreed so readily to her request to replace Cassie because he understood her discomfort.

But now, she realized that he probably never intended to replace Cassie at all. His earlier agreement was likely just perfunctory.

Just like Cassie had smugly predicted—Melody would ask to have her switched back within a day.

Now, everything in the room had been inspected and rearranged by Cassie. It made Melody feel incredibly uncomfortable just by standing there.

Jeremy was irritated because someone had touched his clothes. He could tolerate Melody's small, insignificant demands, but he wouldn't allow anyone to cross his boundaries or disturb his routine.

He raised his eyes, intending to remind Melody not to touch his things again in the future. Yet, the moment his eyes met her clear gaze, the words seemed to lodge themselves in his throat.

After a moment, he slowly said, "You wanted a new concierge, and I agreed. But I also expect you not to disrupt my usual routine or preferences."

Melody briefly closed her eyes. Then, she nodded once before turning back to Cassie standing nearby.

Though Melody usually spoke gently, it didn't mean she lacked a temper. She looked directly at Cassie and said clearly, "I'm sorry, but we don't need housekeeping service right now. You may leave."

Even though Andrew had always been stingy about many things, he'd made sure to teach Melody proper etiquette and boundaries clearly. After all, he'd always worried she might embarrass the Wardolf family in public.

Cassie seemed unwilling to leave, and she openly allowed her gaze to linger on Jeremy.

Melody softly warned, "Do you want me to file a complaint about you?"

Only after Cassie and Johnny left did Melody finally turn around and pull her suitcase out from the closet.

She didn't say anything as she began to silently pack her belongings.
