A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 206

Melody's grip on the suitcase handle tightened as she tried to hide her sadness. After a brief pause, without even sparing Jeremy another glance, she walked straight out with her luggage.

Melody planned to head directly to the reception desk, but she unexpectedly ran into Ophelia.

Ophelia's expression darkened upon seeing Melody with her luggage, but she didn't question it. Instead, she accompanied Melody to the reception desk, booked her another room, and upgraded it directly to the hotel's most luxurious VIP presidential suite.

Melody awkwardly murmured, "Ophelia, this isn't necessary. A regular room is fine."

Ophelia casually waved her off. "What's the big deal? Jeremy's paying anyway. If he's upset you, then you should at least take it out on him this way.

"If you can't vent your anger on him, then you should at least empty his wallet."

At the mention of Jeremy's name, Melody visibly stiffened. She pressed her lips together, unsure of how to respond.

Ophelia saw her obvious distress and chose not to push the topic further. Then, her attention suddenly fell on the turquoise guardian angel around Melody's neck. She raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Mel, when did you get such a beautiful turquoise guardian angel? The quality looks exquisite."

She seemed genuinely curious as she remarked, "Did Andrew actually buy you something this valuable?"

Melody was about to explain that Andrew hadn't given this to her. But then, she saw Jeremy approaching with Cassie smiling just behind him.

She immediately lowered her voice and said, "Ophelia, I'll go unpack first. I'll see you at dinner."

Ophelia nodded without another comment. However, once Melody had walked away, she turned around and expressionlessly regarded Jeremy.

She tapped the reception desk and flatly said, "I upgraded Mel's room. You're paying for it."

Jeremy didn't respond—clearly, he didn't object to it.

Ophelia continued, "Since you don't know how to spend your money, let Mel spend it for you. If you can't say the right things to make her happy, then use your wallet.

"If you can't give her emotional comfort, at least provide her some material comfort. Otherwise, why should Mel even bother dating you?"

Jeremy and Ophelia rarely had anything to say to each other. So, after making her point, Ophelia walked away without another glance.
