Yolanda Campbell had been Ophelia's closest friend in their student days.
Yolanda's parents had passed away in an accident, but Yolanda went on to become an outstanding physician. She was a shining star in the medical world, particularly in respiratory diseases.
Owen shook his head. "There's no way Melody could be Professor Campbell's daughter." He didn't say it outright, but his implication was clear. Yolanda was famous for being brilliant. So there was no way her daughter would be as ordinary as Melody.
Ophelia shot him an irritated look. "Melody has a purer heart than most of you!"
"Yes, yes," Owen quickly agreed. "But Yolanda's daughter disappeared abroad, there's no way she could be Melody." He paused briefly before continuing, "If Yolanda's coming back, what about her husband? I've always wanted to meet Mr. Lambert."
...
Melody returned to her room alone, feeling depressed and uninterested in anything until her phone buzzed.
The Green Moon Orphanage group chat now had four members.
Tiffany tagged her and teasingly asked, "What's going on? Did you forget about us completely after you went to the island? At least send us some beach photos!"
Melody quickly took two pictures from her window and sent them to the group.
Tiffany immediately and excitedly replied, "An ocean-view room! Judging from the angle, isn't this that famous seven-star hotel I saw online?"
Felicia dramatically sighed and texted, "Looks like you've been enjoying yourself while Jason and I spent the whole day doing grunt work at the orphanage."
Melody sent a question mark.
Felicia quickly explained, "Didn't you know? Denvin decided to completely renovate the orphanage. The kids have to temporarily stay in a nearby villa complex. Jason and I were helping to pack their things.
"But seriously, Denvin is really generous. He rented several villas for the kids."
Melody genuinely hadn't known about this renovation. Lydia hadn't mentioned it to her. She asked, "Do you need any help?"
"Of course not! Your brother arranged everything so perfectly. You don't have to worry at all."
Melody curled up on the bed, chatting with them.
Soon, she drifted to sleep.
When she woke up again, it was already bright outside.
She checked her phone.
Tiffany had playfully asked her what it was like traveling with Jeremy, but Melody hesitated and didn't reply.
Melody just wanted to relax on this vacation.
…
After leaving her room, Melody met with Ophelia.
Ophelia asked her if she wanted to surf or scuba dive, but Melody declined since she wasn't good at swimming.
Yet again, Ophelia's attention was drawn to Melody's turquoise guardian angel. "Mel, can you ask Andrew where he bought that turquoise guardian angel? The quality is exceptionally rare."
Her question instantly attracted Owen and Jeremy's attention too.
