A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 211

Jeremy rejected them without leaving any room for negotiation.

His attitude clearly provoked the group. Melody could already hear them starting to curse.

Judging by their voices, they seemed quite young.

They weren't actually that far from the hotel lobby. If things got just a bit louder, security would probably hear them.

However, these people appeared to be habitual offenders. They quietly cursed and made threats, even warning Melody and Jeremy not to make any loud noises.

Jeremy held Melody close. Her forehead rested against his warm chest, and her palms tightly gripped his shirt.

She nervously whispered, "Jeremy, maybe I should just give them the necklace. We can leave first and then call the police to arrest them."

Even though the necklace might've been left to her by her biological parents, it didn't feel worth the risk in a moment like this.

However, Jeremy didn't answer her. Instead, he calmly looked at the group and said, "You still have a choice right now. I suggest you think carefully."

These robbers were probably local youths without jobs, looking to make a quick buck. No one really wanted to get themselves into deeper trouble.

However, the leader seemed stubborn. He pointed at Melody's neck and said, "Give us the necklace, and you can leave."

"You've already lingered here long enough," Jeremy calmly responded. "Someone could pass by at the entrance any moment now. Believe it or not, someone's probably already called the police."

Jeremy didn't give in to their threats. Instead, he logically explained the risks to them. His handsome face showed no trace of panic. In fact, his composure carried a powerful sense of authority.

Even Melody found herself calming down a bit, reassured by his steady voice.

She kept her head buried against his chest, and an unexpected thought surfaced in her mind—Jeremy seemed to be the only person who ever made her feel completely safe.

Every time she faced danger, it always seemed to be Jeremy who stood by her side.
