A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 213

Melody and Jeremy stayed in the room for a long time. It was so long, in fact, that Melody felt stiff from being in the same position for hours.

She gently called Jeremy's name, but she received no response. After briefly hesitating, she carefully shifted her position and looked back at him.

He was still holding onto her.

Only then did Melody realize that Jeremy's eyelashes were lowered, and his breathing was steady and calm.

He'd actually fallen asleep.

Now, Melody truly didn't dare move anymore. She lowered her gaze, softly biting her lip as she looked at Jeremy's injured arm, lost in thought.

What eventually woke Jeremy was the ringing of his phone. By that time, it was already dusk outside.

Jeremy went out to the balcony to answer the call, while Melody remained sitting on the couch, rubbing her stiff shoulders.

After acting as Jeremy's pillow for the entire afternoon, she felt exhausted.

She could faintly hear Jeremy's voice. He seemed to be discussing something related to work.

Melody decided to rest for a while, but even after a few minutes, Jeremy was still on the phone.

Suddenly, upon remembering the turquoise guardian angel around her neck, she quickly took it off and carefully stored it away.

She had worn it earlier because she'd felt sentimental after discovering some clues about her biological parents. She hadn't expected that it would attract trouble and even nearly get stolen.

Just as she finished putting it away, Jeremy returned.

He glanced down at Melody and calmly reminded her, saying, "It's time to head downstairs for dinner."

After today's scare, Melody didn't have much of an appetite. But since Jeremy had mentioned dinner, she wouldn't refuse him.

When Melody followed him downstairs, she noticed that Ophelia was already there waiting for them.
