Melody's question made Jeremy furrow his brows. His dark eyes looked even more intense in the darkness of the night as he countered, "Does it really make a difference?"
"Of course it does." Melody's voice trembled. She repeated, "So, did you come here because you wanted to bring me here, or did you come just to see her?"
Melody didn't break down when she learned that Jeremy had coldly watched as she was attacked online.
She didn't break down either when he'd turned off his phone after she reached out to him for help while being in pain at the mall.
Even when facing his so-called apology back home, she didn't break down.
But now, she couldn't control her emotions.
Even Jeremy's comfort and concessions weren't sincere. He'd only dropped her off because he had been planning to meet Krystal.
Melody suddenly stepped back, as if trying to distance herself from him.
Jeremy paused for a moment and spoke in a low voice, "Taking you to the hospital and looking for her are things that can be done at the same time. What difference does it make?"
"But I don't want to have been sent here simply because it was convenient." Melody choked.
She had always known that Jeremy was cold, and she had always understood his personality. But slowly, she realized that she wasn't as selfless as she'd thought. She would get jealous, feel sad, and feel wronged. She'd have all kinds of little temper tantrums.
But because Jeremy couldn't see them and didn't care, she'd quietly swallow all those feelings. Rather than express her emotions, she was more afraid of losing him.
At least, that was what she had thought before.
Jeremy looked at her with an expression that seemed to show a hint of despair. His eyes narrowed slightly. "You're not in the right mood today. You shouldn't go to work…"
