"I've heard a lot of women in the medical profession view Yolanda as their role model."
Frankly, Ophelia and Jeremy didn't have much to chat about, but before she hung up, she couldn't help but add, "Are you still planning on visiting that woman's grave this year on your birthday?"
This made Jeremy hang up the call abruptly.
The woman Ophelia mentioned was none other than Jeremy's birth mother.
…
This was Melody's first time working in a corporate company, and it was a completely new industry for her no less, so she was rather nervous.
Denvin's secretary, Bevin Lennon, led her into her new office, introducing, "Ms. Wardolf, this is your workspace. If there's anything you need, feel free to let me know."
Melody scanned the office. It was clean and simple, and there was nothing to complain about.
However, there was one problem.
Feeling a little awkward, she asked, "Has Mr. Wardolf said what he needs me to do?"
Denvin had only asked her to join Regallo to handle the charity-related matters, but he had never specified what she would be doing exactly.
Looking at the empty office, Melody couldn't help but feel anxious.
Bevin reassured her, "Mr. Denvin is your direct supervisor. You can ask him if you have any questions."
Melody thanked her, then went straight to see Denvin.
Denvin was in the middle of a conference call when he saw her walk in, and he signaled for her to wait a bit.
This was the first time Melody had seen him working so seriously. He was speaking fluently in a different language, and his pronunciation was native-sounding.
He stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows as he stared below expressionlessly. It was as if he were a proud king surveying his land.
A surge of nervousness overtook Melody. She didn't know what she was even doing at Regallo. What if she didn't know how to do anything and only caused trouble for others?
