Chapter 36 I'll Never Withdraw It

Quentin struggled to find a comeback to Leah's remarks.

After falling silent for a long while, he pinched his brow and said coldly,

"Just tell me, Leah, what it will take for you to withdraw the lawsuit?"

Leah responded with a mocking laugh, "If you want me to drop it, it's simple. Sharon needs to go live and issue a public apology on social media, or we won't have any deal to discuss."

Sharon's face slightly turned pale, and she lowered her voice, trying to sound distressed as she spoke to Quentin, "Quentin, issuing a public apology would seriously damage my career. I... I can't do that."

"I understand," Quentin replied, his expression turning frosty. He addressed Leah, "Leah, this matter was already resolved on the night of the banquet, and it didn't harm you. Why are you making such a big deal out of it now?"

"Making a big deal out of it?" Leah chuckled in exasperation. "If I hadn't clarified and defended my rights, I'd probably have been drowned in Sharon's fans' criticism by now. Have you ever considered what Sharon did to me? She instigated her fans to attack me first. That's why we're in this situation."

Quentin knew Sharon had indeed done something wrong. He didn't know how to reply and fell silent.

Sharon hesitated briefly and then pretended to be wronged as she told Leah, "Miss Wilson, I know our past issues have left you dissatisfied, but you don't have to blow this minor incident out of proportion. Or do you want to see me driven to the brink just to feel satisfied?"

Upon hearing Sharon's voice, Leah realized that they were together. She didn't hold back and sarcastically remarked, "Someone as shameless as you wouldn't be pushed to the brink, would they?"
