Begging the Divorced Heiresses Back novel Chapter 20

Evan’s POV:

These four years of separation had tortured me like hell. I tried not to think of Anya, but she and her body haunted me day and night…

So, the only thing I wanted to do right now was to conquer her.

However, as I was about to get what I longed for, the rapid and loud knocks on the door interrupted me.

‘What a bummer!’ I cursed.

Then, I let off Anya at once.

“You stay here and don’t go anywhere!” I ordered as I tidied up my clothes hastily.

Then, I walked out of the door as if nothing happened.

“Tina? What are you doing here?” I asked, resuming my usual demeanor.

“I came to see you. I heard you were going to sign a contract with Anya. So, I decided to stop by.” Tina replied, with a sweet smile on her face.

Then, she looked in the direction of the bathroom and asked, “Where is Anya? Isn’t she here?”

Hearing that, I frowned. “The contract is signed. Let’s go now.” I said, putting my arm around her shoulder.

Just then, the bathroom door opened, and Anya stormed out of it, straightening her messy hair.

“Evan Cater, you are so shameless!” she looked at me and cursed.

“Evan…” Tina spoke. “Since the contract is signed, let’s go then!”

“Where do you want to go?” I asked.

“Didn’t we talk about going to have a try on wedding dress last night?”

Only then, did I remember. “Oh, sure, we will go in a minute.”

Last night, Tina came to meet me, and we talked. She wailed like a baby, asking me if I had stopped loving her.

We had been dating for six years, and I knew that I couldn’t put off the wedding any longer.

So, without realizing what I was doing, I proposed to her…

Catching the flash of heartbreak in Anya’s eyes, I hugged Tina more tightly.

“And after the wedding dress, let’s go check on the wedding ring. There was a batch of diamonds freshly coming into town recently. Let’s go and see if you like any of them.” I spoke.

‘Really?” Tina was ecstatic.

I looked at Tina lovingly and added, “I ordered a 24.87- carat pink diamond. You are turning 24 this year. I would have given it to you as your birthday gift on October 15 but it doesn’t matter now. This pink diamond is quite precious. Its worth $100 million.”

As I said, my gaze fell on Anya. I wanted to see Anya get mad. ‘We both know that the $100 million was supposed to be hers. Since Anya thought she was too noble to take my money, she shouldn’t blame me for spending it on the woman who took her husband away.’

“Evan, you are so sweet!” Tina said happily as she stood on tiptoe and gave me a big kiss on the cheek.
