Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 602

Chapter 602

Rachel looked at Old Mr. Johnson.

After pondering for a long time, Rachel slowly pulled her hand away from the old man’s. “What if I say

no?”

“You!” Old Mr. Johnson finally couldn’t take Rachel’s stubborn attitude anymore. The old man raised the walking stick in his hand and hit Rachel hard.

Old Mr. Johnson was really angry. He did not show any mercy.

Old Mr. Johnson thought that Rachel would dodge. He did not expect Rachel to stubbornly stand on the spot and take the hit.

With a dull thud, Rachel’s face instantly turned pale. Sweat appeared on the tip of Rachel’s nose.

However, Rachel did not let out a single cry of pain and remained standing in place.

This stubborn look was exactly the same as Sophia’s!

Old Mr. Johnson’s hand, which was holding the walking stick tightly, trembled uncontrollably. Old Mr. Johnson’s eyes were filled with pity.

“Think carefully about whether you deserve this or not! With that, Old Mr. Johnson snorted and walked

away.

Mr. Chadwick took a deep look at Rachel. His face was filled with pity. He sighed helplessly and followed Old Mr. Johnson.

When the two of them reached the door, Old Mr. Johnson glanced at Mr. Chadwick with a dark gaze.

Mr. Chadwick instantly understood and deliberately slowed down.

After the old man left, Mr. Chadwick rushed forward and looked at Rachel with a doting expression. “Miss, why didn’t you dodge?”

Rachel covered her arm and pursed her lips. “Because I don’t want to take a step back in this matter.”

“Miss, why don’t you understand Mr. Johnson’s painstaking efforts?” Mr. Chadwick sighed deeply and helped Rachel to sit on the sofa. Seeing that Rachel’s face was covered in a cold sweat from the pain, Mr. Chadwick could not help but frown. “Why don’t we go to the hospital for a checkup?”

The walking stick in the old man’s hand was not an ordinary item. Even Mr. Louis and Mr. David would not be able to withstand it, let alone Rachel who had always been used to living like a princess.

Rachel waved her hand. “Mr. Chadwick, I’m really fine. You should hurry back to Grandpa.”

Mr. Chadwick watched Rachel grow up. Naturally, he knew that no one could change Rachel’s decision. He could only nod.

However, when Mr. Chadwick reached the door, his footsteps paused for a moment. Mr. Chadwick. turned around and looked at Rachel, who was sitting on the sofa. After thinking for a long time, Mr. Chadwick said slowly, “Miss, don’t blame Mr. Johnson. He’s really thinking for you.”

“I know,” Rachel said.

After Mr. Chadwick left, Rachel got up and walked into the lounge.

Rachel unbuttoned her clothes and frowned when she saw a large bruise on her arm.

Actually, the old man had been merciful with that hit. Otherwise, Rachel would have more than just a bruise.

However, this matter somehow reached Tom and Adrian. The two brothers appeared in Rachel’s office together as if they had planned it.

“Why are you guys here?” Rachel looked at her two uncles.

Tom’s well-defined face was slightly gloomy as if there was a thin layer of ice on it. “I heard that you were

beaten up by the old man, so I came to check on you. Are your injuries serious?”

“Yeah, is the injury serious?” Adrian said as he walked towards Rachel and reached out to pull Rachel’s

clothes.

Seeing the situation. Tom’s face suddenly darkened. Torn suddenly raised his leg and kicked Adrian’s butt. “Men and women shouldn’t touch each other!”

Adrian rubbed his butt and realized how inappropriate his actions were.
