Chapter 654 

David’s expression changed. He hung up the phone and rushed to the bedroom. 

He pushed open the door and saw Rachel kneeling on the ground. He frowned slightly. “What’s wrong?” 

Rachel knelt on the ground and picked up the phone methodically. 

Hearing David’s voice, the coldness between her eyebrows faded a little. “My hand slipped just now and I accidentally dropped my phone.” 

A meaningful dark glint flashed across David’s eyes. 

What a poor excuse. 

Did she truly consider him to be that foolish? 

In spite of his disdain, he played along and asked. “Can you still use it? If you can’t use it, I’ll get you a 

new one.” 

He did not expose Rachel’s poorly made-up excuse. 

“It should still be alright.” Rachel picked up the phone and tapped on its screen. 

Seeing that the phone was unharmed, she smiled. “I didn’t expect it to be so sturdy.” 

“It just looks sturdy on the outside.” David walked forward and gently stroked her hair. He said meaningfully. “It’s also very fragile on the inside.” 

Rachel’s eyes flashed slightly. She looked at David’s gentle black eyes and finally gave up on pretending that everything was alright.
