Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 755

Chapter 755

Originally, the Page family was planning a marriage with the Summers family in Pollister.

However, who would have thought that something would happen to Tom at this juncture? They had to temporarily put their marriage discussions on hold to avoid any other storms.

Who knew if the Summers family would give up on the idea of a marriage between the families because of what happened to Tom?

Thinking of this, the resentment in Katy’s heart could not help but show on her face.

“Katy, I don’t expect you to help me at this time,” Rachel suddenly said. She lowered her gaze and looked at her nails. She continued casually, “But I don’t mind giving you a free lesson if you can’t shut your mouth obediently!”

Her nonchalant tone was slow and indifferent, but there was a chilling deterrence in her words.

Katy felt as if her heart was being gripped by something, and her breathing slowed down slightly.

“Charles, there’s nothing else for you to do here. The two of you can go back first.” There was a hint of coldness in Eleanor’s eyes.

Charles knew that what Katy had said just now had disappointed Eleanor. He did not have the face to stay here.

He responded and dragged Katy out of the door.

Katy was caught off guard and was pulled away forcefully, “Let go! Charles, you’re hurting me!”

“Shut up!” Charles scolded with a dark expression. “When we get home, you better stay put obediently and not go anywhere!”

Katy flung his hand away fiercely. “Fine! Shout at the outsiders if you’re so impressive! What’s so good about giving me, your sister, a sullen face all day long!”

With that, she left in her high heels.

After the two of them left, Eleanor sighed deeply. A faint worry appeared in her eyes.

Rachel looked at Eleanor’s worried expression and walked forward. She sat beside her and held her hand. “Eleanor, don’t worry. Tom will be fine.”

Eleanor smiled. “I know.”

She just didn’t expect her niece to make sarcastic remarks at this time.

In the end, she could not count on them at all.

“Rae-Rae, don’t worry about this.” Eleanor held Rachel’s hand and patted it gently, “Tom and I will think of a way.”

Rachel smiled. “But how can I stand by and do nothing?”

She lowered her gaze to hide the coldness in them.

Rachel stayed behind to eat with Eleanor before she was relieved enough to leave.

Before leaving, Eleanor held her hand and reminded her, “Rae-Rae, don’t show your face in public for the

time being, and don’t mention Tom, understand?”

If something really happened to Tom, both the Johnson family and the Page family might be implicated.

Eleanor wanted to save every member of the two families as best as she could.

“Eleanor, don’t worry. Tom will be fine.” Rachel opened her arms and hugged her. She gently rubbed Eleanor’s back with her palm. “Rest well. Otherwise, Tom will be heartbroken if he finds out.”

“Okay.”

Rachel looked deeply at Eleanor. “Then I’ll take my leave first.”

Eleanor waved her hand. “Sure.”

After Rachel got into the car, Chris glanced at the rearview mirror. “Miss Grey, Billy has already brought the person to the Entertainment Center.

“Good,” Rachel replied indifferently.

The car drove all the way to the Entertainment Center. Lucas happened to rush over when Rachel arrived.

The two of them looked at each other and walked into the Entertainment Center without saying anything.

In the private room, a refined man sat in the middle of a group of burly men..

The man was about 27 or 28 years old. He wore a pair of black-framed glasses and was handsome and scholarly,

The door was suddenly pushed open and Harold looked over warily.

His eyes flickered with joy as if he saw his savior the moment he saw Lucas. “Mr. Johnson.”

However, Lucas only looked up and glanced at him indifferently. He did not say much.

Rachel’s gaze first lingered on Harold for a moment before looking at Billy. “All of you go out first. Don’t let outsiders approach.”

“Yes, Miss Grey.”

Hearing Billy call Rachel “Miss Grey”, the expression in Harold’s eyes changed.

Rumor had it that no one really knew the name of the Johnson family’s eldest daughter, let alone seen her face.

Now that he saw Rachel and Lucas appear at the same time and saw that Billy listened to Rachel, Harold immediately had some guesses.

After the door of the private room was closed, Rachel sat on the sofa and asked directly, “Mr. Durham, have you heard of the story of the farmer and the snake?”

Harold frowned slightly, his gaze cold. “Miss Grey, what are you trying to say?”

Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly, and the corners of her mouth curled into a faint smile. “All these years, the Johnson family has put you through university and saved you from financial worries. But how are you repaying the Johnson family now?”

Harold lowered his gaze to hide the panic in his eyes. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Stop acting!” Lucas glared at Harold fiercely.
