Bound By Her Bump novel Chapter 11

"So what do you think?" Eric smiled as he watched out for his youngest sister's reaction.

He just finished giving her a tour of the private suite they will be staying for the weekend.

"I love it, Eric. Thank you!" She whispered, trying to hold back tears.

She walked towards him and hugged him. "Thank you."

The private suite Eric rented was a two-bedroom expensive suit with an amazing view of the Eiffel tower right in front of it.

After giving Laura a tour of the apartment, he took her to her room and she was surprised at what she saw. She saw three cakes on the bed with another box of cupcakes and four wrapped gifts with some decorations on the wall saying 'Happy Birthday Laura.'

Eric planned ahead with the hotel manager to get the surprise done.

"You're welcome. So does that mean I'm forgiven? You're no longer mad at me?" He asked hopefully.

She has been giving him cold treatment since he arrived at his parents' mansion to pick her up. She refused to talk to him on their way to the airport and she ignored him on the flight.

"I'm sorry for acting childish, Eric. I was scared you wouldn't show up. Can you forgive me too?" She apologized sincerely, looking at him with her puppy dog eyes.

"It's fine dear."

"I don't think I'll be able to finish all of these." She pointed to the cakes on her bed.

Eric chuckled. "They're all yours. Figure out what to do with them."

"I'll think of something." She murmured as she approached the bed, sat on it and began to unwrap the gifts.

There were three boxes. All squared shaped with the same colour of wrapping papers but in different sizes. Laura decided to start with the biggest box which contained a pair of red heels. She smiled, she was a fan of heels; she could wear them all day. Her mom, Evelyn often begs her to take it easy on heels so she won't break her ankle. But Laura was used to them already.

Laura was about to place the heels back in the box when she saw a purse in it. It was a matching red purse for the heels.

She opened the second box and came across a camera. It was one of the latest brands and her name 'Laura.' was engraved on it.

The last box contained a diamond earring and her favourite chocolate.

"Thanks for spoiling me." She smiled as she hugged her elder brother, then took a seat beside him.

"You're welcome. Keep on being a good girl."

"I'm going to miss you when you get married." Laura declared out of the blue.

"What do you mean?" He asked, amused.

"You're so caring. Whoever becomes your wife will be the luckiest person in the world. Also, when you get married, you'll have more responsibilities and you'll hardly have time to hang out with me."

"No matter what, I'll always make time for you." He promised. His parents taught him how to care for and protect his younger siblings.

"Why don't you go take a shower and go to bed? It's past midnight. We have a long day tomorrow."

"Okay. But I don't think I'm ready to sleep so I might come to your room to hang out before I go to bed.

"No problem. You can come over as soon as you're done. I'll go take a shower too."

Laura took a very quick shower, dried her hair and changed into her pyjamas, a plain purple shirt with a 'sweet dreams' design on it with matching pants.

She reached for her phone and airpods from her bag then made her way to her elder brother's room.

After Eric told her to come in, She slowly opened the door and shut it behind her. He was seated on the left side of the bed with his sweat pants on and a plain dark shirt which did not fail to display his muscle.

Eric's room was bigger than Laura's room.

"So, I was thinking of joining the hostel once school resumes." She said as she walked over to Eric's bed, raised the duvet and took a seat on the right side of the bed.

"Are you sure about that?" Eric asked with his eyebrow raised.

Apart from Laura's school being a mixed school, it had both day and boarding facilities. She never liked being away from home which was why she never joined the hostel and now Eric was surprised to hear her say otherwise.

"I'm sure Eric. Being in the hostel is fun; Besides I'm a big girl now." She said proudly. "Meaning I can take very good care of myself."

"Okay. You have my support." He said and she smiled. Eric was okay with it and now it remained her parents' approval.

As Eric busied himself with some work on his laptop, Laura also got busy, typing on her phone and listening to some music.

Eric shut down his laptop and placed it on the nightstand after which he picked up his phone and rested his head against the headboard.

He scrolled through his pictures and his eyes met a very attractive one, Annie's picture. He took it when they were at the restaurant. In the picture, Annie looked away from him, with a small smile on her face, trying to hide her blush.
