Bound By Her Bump novel Chapter 12

"Wake up sleepy head." Annie heard a loud voice say from her sleep.

"Go away." She mumbled as she snuggled closer to the pillow.

"Annnnnieeeee, wake up." The voice said again.

"Give me twenty minutes, Ella." She mumbled with her eyes closed.

"No way, honey. You have to wake up now." She placed a kiss on Annie's cheek after which she removed the duvet from her body.

Annie groaned as she slowly opened her eyes.

"Good morning." She greeted her best friend.

"Hi, love." Ella hugged her.

"What time is it?" Annie asked, pulling away from the hug.

"10:23 which is very strange since you're an early riser."

"It's Saturday, Ella, don't blame me, besides I slept very late. When did you arrive?" She asked, using the back of her palm to rub her eyes.

"Few minutes past eight, I checked up on you, you were sleeping so peacefully so I decided to give you more time to rest."

"I was hoping to see Claire and Jayden. I thought they would be here." Ella said disappointed.

"They spent the night at mom's place. They'll be back this evening."

"So how was your date with Eric?" Ella smiled.

"It wasn't a date, Ella." Annie blushed.

"Whatever, you're going to tell me what you guys talked about. But first, go and clean up and I'll bring breakfast for you."

As soon as Ella exited Annie's room, She lazily got down from her bed, arranged it a little and then proceeded to her bathroom to clean up.

Coming out of the bathroom all cleaned up, She saw Ella seated on her bed.

"I don't think I'll be able to finish that" She pointed to the tray of food on her nightstand.

"You should eat well Annie. You know you're eating for two now." Ella persuaded.

"Thanks for the food." She said sincerely, referring to the items on the tray. Bread, eggs, bacon, sausage and a glass of orange juice.

Ella smiled. "You're welcome."

"But that doesn't mean I'm going to finish everything." She chuckled. "You care for some?"

"No, I've had mine, it's all yours. Enjoy."

"So what did you guys talk about?" Ella asked Annie when She was halfway through her meal.

"Nothing much," Annie mumbled and Ella glared at her.

It was not as if she didn't trust Ella enough to tell her. She just does not want to say it out because her feelings for Eric may be one-sided. She doesn't know if he felt the same way about her even though he asked for a chance to let him in, in her life. A part of her felt he was doing all of that for the baby's sake.

"So what is your conclusion about Eric? Even if you keep saying otherwise, I know you like him."

"Nothing serious for now, Ella, Let's just see how things go."

"Enough about me, how was your night with Dylan?" Annie smirked as she placed the tray on the nightstand to her left. There was some leftover on her plate.

Ella's face went red as she looked shyly at Annie. She spent most of her Fridays at Annie's house but yesterday she spent the night with Dylan.

"Fine, romantic, memorable." She smiled.

"So did you guys get intimate?" Annie asked excitedly.

"Annnnnn!" Ella groaned.

"Don't blame me. I'm just curious." She smiled.

"No, we didn't Miss. We spent the night getting to know each other." Annie shook her head in disbelief at Ella's reply. She knew her best friend was hiding something.

"Fine. We talked about you and Eric. Dylan also made me promise to take very good care of you. He wants to meet you too." She placed her right hand on Annie's own.

True, Dylan and Ella spoke about Annie and Eric. Dylan told her about how Eric had fallen in love with her best friend even before he met her. He also told Ella how shy Eric could be when it comes to loving someone and how protective he could be at the same time.

Ella and Dylan ended the conversation by promising to do everything in their power to make sure Annie and Eric end up together. Not only as parents to their child but something more than that.
