Chapter 3 Danger
Jason had scared Joana, so her mind had gone blank. She had not heard what they had said and had not recovered until he had left. Although Jason was handsome, she dared not to have designs on him anymore because she could not bear this kind of man. Brady was also handsome but looked gentle and elegant. She was sure he would dote on his wife. Now, she thought the domineering presidents should stay in the romantic novels. In reality, mild men were a better choice!
When Rejoyla saw Joana's eyes were full of affection, the corners of her mouth twitched. Then, she slowly said, "He is Jason's cousin Brady. So, he is also our nephew. And I am working for him now."
Joana showed a look of disappointment. One more nephew? Were all the handsome guys here her nephews?
The wedding went smoothly despite the gauze around Jason's head and his cold vibes. The members of the Sterling family were amazing. Although Jason was exuding a cold aura, they could still brightly smile at the cameras. Rejoyla could not do it. She felt ill at ease because Jason was staring at her with his gloomy black eyes all the time.
Soon, the guests were free to move about. It was the time for everyone to communicate and make friends. The people who could attend the wedding of the Sterling family were all celebrities, so they also looked down upon the bride's daughters and would not take the initiative to talk to them. After all, the newlyweds might divorce at any time. After Joana went to see handsome guys, Rejoyla felt a little bored. So, she wandered around.
The wedding was held in the Sterling family's villa in the urban area of the Capital City. It was a fancy retro building, and the layout inside was up to the royal standards. Even the paintings on the wall were genuine antiques. Rejoyla was fascinated by them. She had only seen such things in museums before, so it was a rare opportunity to appreciate them now. She followed the paintings on the wall and unconsciously walked away from the crowd.
Standing in front of a painting, she sighed that the Sterling family was so wealthy that they displayed such a precious painting like this. They were not afraid people would steal it at all. But the price of this painting could raise an ordinary person for a lifetime.
She was concentrating on appreciating the painting, so she didn't notice the man approaching her. When he covered her mouth from behind, she was stunned. After she recovered from the shock and tried to struggle, the man restrained her body, dragged her into a room nearby, and slammed the door shut.
Rejoyla shivered when hearing the door closing, thinking she was in trouble. Was the man a thief who had sneaked in? She shouldn't have walked away from the crowd. But she had never expected such a thing to happen in the Sterling family because there were many burly bodyguards in sunglasses in the villa. Why had not any of them noticed it?
She didn't dare to struggle for fear of angering the man. He soon clamped her hands behind her back with his big palm and restrained her legs. When he pressed her against the door, she whined, signaling to him to let go.
