Chapter 66
Shirley glanced at the ringing phone in the Cullinan and said, “Janice, your phone’s tinging!
“Could you check who it is?
1/1
shirley unlocked her phone and saw a text from Simon. She said, “Someone’s hoping you’ll sign the Crochet Collaboration Contract”
She scanned the chat history briefly, and her expression dimmed further. “This guy mentioned Ms, Olson who is it?
Janice thought of Shirley’s bubbly character and decided that any slip of the tongue could lead to trouble. She decided to be. “It’s my mentor. I’m logged into my work account.” shirley’s jaw tensed as she stared at Janice. “Are you implying that Ms. Shirley Olson, the crocheter who’s ridiculously well known in the foreign community, is your mentor? The one who has the same name as mine? The one who won the Best Seamstress Award for her debut competition entry?”
Janice nodded.
Shirley’s eyes widened in awe. “It’s no wonder that your crochet skills have skyrocketed! That’s amazing!
She had bragged to her classmates about how talented Cruznian women were and how much she admired Shirley Olson. Discovering this revered figure was Janice’s mentor felt unreat
“How old is Ms. Olson?”
“I’m not sure. I’ve never met her. She just sends me tutorial videos,” Janice answered carefully. She couldn’t risk revealing her identity just yet, or Simon could go crazy and cling
Once their issues were settled, she could unvell her true identity.
Someone suddenly tapped on her car window as they were at a red light.
Janice turned and was instantly shocked by the scene before her.
It was Simon! Why would he be here? How long had he been standing here? Had he overheard her conversation with Shirley?
Ar that moment, a car abruptly swerved in front of her Cullinan to block her path. It was a clear indication that she wasn’t allowed to leave anytime now.
Janine cracked the window just slightly. “What do you want?” She was on high alert against Simon
Instead of displaying his usual manke behavior, Simon looked at her and smiled faintly in response. “Let’s talk. We were once a couple, after all. There’s no need to make things this ugly. You want the money you earned and half the villa, right? Let’s make a dead.”
For the first time ever, he sounded sincere, but Janice didn’t trust him. She knew Simon all too well.
“Janice, I’m at my ywir’s end. You know I mean it if I’ve gone through the trouble of finding you. If you push this tar, we’ll both just end up getting hurt, and I’m sure that’s not what you want, is it? Especially when..”
Simon took a drag on his cigarette and puffed our smoke. “Your brother is still in Greenfield dry, isn’t he?”
