Chapter 63
Niamh and her team resolved disagreements and made unanimous design decisions on the spot. That allowed them to work more efficiently.
During the process, Niamh’s phone kept ringing. She would check on who the caller was whenever her phone rang and declined the calls if they were from Castiel or Renee.
She was surprised to receive a call from Nathan, Blake’s assistant. She answered, “Hello, Mr. Wadlow.”
“Do you need the architectural plans for the buildings around Linden Grove?” Nathan asked.
“Yes, I need them,” Niamh responded without a second thought. Those things were far too crucial to her.
What one intended to build on a piece of land didn’t solely depend on its geographical location. The facilities surrounding that land were important‘ factors, too. Not only should the land’s future build be suited for its location, but it also had to blend in with the surrounding aesthetics.
“I’ll be waiting for you downstairs.”
“Alright, I’ll be right over.” Niamh ended the call and headed downstairs without grabbing her coat.
A conspicuous Rolls–Royce Phantom parked outside the office building. The car itself was eye–catching. One had to admit Leopardbite Intl. was a high–profile company because even their employees could drive such a fancy car.
Niamh ran over to the half–open car window.
There, Nathan handed a folder to her with a smile. “These are the
approved architectural plans for the surrounding area.”
“Thanks!” Niamh accepted the plans and hugged them dearly against her
chest.
One should know regular outsiders could never get these plans. The fact that Niamh had them meant she knew the details of Linden Grove’s surrounding areas very well.
If she failed to design something satisfactory, her incapability was to blame. She would have no choice but to accept defeat.
“We’ll be on our way now,” said Nathan,
“Take care. I’ll buy you a meal another day.” Technically, Niamh should have brought Nathan, her kind benefactor, out for coffee. However, she was in too much of a time crunch now to do so.
The car drove off, and Niamh could vaguely see a figure through the rear window. It looked like… Blake?
Not far away, Castiel had just come downstairs and saw Niamh. He also noticed Blake’s car, which caused his demeanor to turn frosty. He
approached Niamh at once.
Niamh turned, only to crash into a man’s chest. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
Castiel caught her at once.
Niamh looked up and instantly saw Castiel’s livid stares. Her initial sorry expression vanished in seconds while indifference took over.
It offended Castiel to receive the cold shoulder from Niamh when she was nodding and smiling at Blake’s car earlier.
“Why are you still here?” Castiel asked harshly, wanting to see which company in this building had hired her.
Niamh pushed away from his hold. She puffed her chest and barked, “I’m working!”
Castiel cocked an eyebrow. Then, he said with a profound tone, “You’ve really become quite something.”
