Ditched Cheating Alpha, I Led My Daughter to Life's Peak novel Chapter 104

My heart stops. No. Not Mr. Olcan.

I feel Carson's grip on my hand tighten. He stares at the man with a hard look, but there's a hesitation in it. "Is that true, Mr. Olcan? Were you the one who advised the formation yesterday?"

Mr. Olcan stares straight ahead. He looks at me for a moment, then back at Carson. "I'm sure this is a misunderstanding."

Those words read guilty to me, but Carson's not biting. "Was it you, or was it her?"

My eyes widen. Don't tell me... Brittany's words echo in my mind. Suzie's the next key advisor after her father, Mr. Olcan himself. Carson's asking if Suzie was the one who basically planned my death. This case is in the bag. Of course it was her. Who else has wanted me dead since I got here? If they had asked me before this meeting even started one person I thought might want me dead in this town, I would've said her in a heartbeat.

Mr. Olcan doesn't say anything for a while. The tension between him and Carson is indescribable. Aiden and Axel don't even get into it.

"Bring Suzie in," Carson says.

"Is that a good idea?" Aiden asks.

"What other choice do we have." Carson's hand falls from mine.

I snap my head towards my hand. What is this? I look at him and it's like he's not even paying attention to me. He's just focused on the big double doors. He looks pissed off, and I remember the time in my room when he was mad and he didn't want to touch me.

Is that it? Or does he not want her to see us touching?

When she walks in, I have the worst stank face ever. After I remember everything this girl put me through, I can't help it. I just want her gone. And now she's here, standing trial for my murder attempt. This is just so stereotypical.

"Finally you guys let me in," Suzie says, going to stand by her father. A few guards get in her way. She cocks her head back. "What is this?"

You're on trial bitch. Shut the fuck up.

I try to calm myself down though. I don't want her to take me there. I'm better than this. Better than resorting to an unproductive verbal altercation with this girl just to tell her about herself.

Mr. Olcan speaks directly to his own flesh and blood. "You're being accused of having manipulated the guard formation to allow Bloodmoon and Dawn Pack members to get to the luna. Do you deny these charges?"

Her head all but snaps in my direction. "What?" She looks at the brothers.

Axel looks away. Aiden keeps staring at her. Carson doesn't know where to look, judging by the way his eyes dart between his brothers and her.
