Ditched Cheating Alpha, I Led My Daughter to Life's Peak novel Chapter 108

Suzie puts her hand over her mouth. "Oh no. I'm so sorry, girl. They got it wrong with me too." She takes a step towards her.

"Forget you," Juliet growls.

Suzie cocks her head back. "Excuse me?"

"One good thing came out of this. I can finally say what I've been meaning to for a while. You're annoying as hell," Juliet sighs, relieved as though a weight had been lifted off her. "I was only friends with you for your nice car and parking privileges, but this kind of drama ain't even worth faking. See ya." Juliet dips before the guards can even get rid of Mr. Reynolds.

Suzie just stands there, mouth agape.

As they lead the old man away, I can't help wondering, "Will you exile him?"

Axel rejects the idea immediately. "And risk him coming back? No."

I look at Aiden, and from the tension in his jaw I'm afraid to ask what they plan to do. I remember the dead wolf in the forest.

"He did save my life," I say quietly.

Aiden scoffs. "It doesn't count if he's the one who put it in danger in the first place."

Suddenly Mr. Olcan starts moving. He stands from his seat and goes to his daughter. "I told them it was all a misunderstanding." He gives her an apologetic look.

"Yeah. That's an understatement." She moves into his arms, covering her eyes from all of us. "Can we go home?" Gag me.

Sure, Suzie was kind of set up to take the fall, but she's no victim. If she never went crazy on me, no one would've suspected her in the first place. She did this to herself.

Mr. Olcan hesitates then looks towards the brothers and the rest of the seventeen. Carson is the first to respond. He nods, giving them permission to leave.

Mr. Olcan looks back at Suzie. "Yeah. Let's go."

"I'm never coming back here again," she says.

He furrows his brow. "What are you talking about?"

She pulls away from him and glares. "I can't advise people who don't trust me. Find someone else to be your heir."

Mr. Olcan looks genuinely puzzled, apparently his default expression when it comes to dealing with his daughter. Whispers fill the room. I think the old lady's about to faint from the way she gasps.

Suzie turns to Carson. "You're not the man I thought you were."

I think we all cock our heads back at that. What?

Carson voices all of our thoughts. "What?"
