I nod.
"Do you remember that I asked you if you understood, and you said yes?"
I nod again, heart racing.
"Then unless you doubt me, come here," he says.
I stare into his eyes. He doesn't take them off of me.
The atmosphere is so tense, I can barely breath. I carefully push the covers off of me, moving across the bed and into his arms. He holds onto me just as tightly as I'm holding onto him, pulling me against his chest like it's the only place I belong. I breathe against him.
He doesn't kiss me, yet. He doesn't take it there. He doesn't turn this into something it doesn't need to be. He just runs his hands up against my arms in a way that's meant to take away the chill of the air and nothing else, but it only leaves me shivering.
"You're safe here with me, and Carson, and Axel. Okay?" he says.
I nod.
He runs his fingers through my hair. "The only thing you should be worried about breaking through your window is Carson."
I try not to laugh, because he still looks very serious. But it's serious in a different way.
His eyes rake over me. His lips are right there, body against mine. He's so close, but he still refuses to close the gap.
I hold onto him, ghosting my lips over his. "What's wrong?" I lean forward.
He leans back. "This isn't what I came here to do."
I shrug. "So?"
"So, you told me to leave." He looks at me. "Is this alright now?"
I nod.
"Are you sure?" he asks.
"Yes." I run my fingers up his lower back. "Not everything of course but, yeah, this is okay."
"Okay." He groans against my lips when I kiss him. Climbing on top of me, he moves me against the bed.
I move my hands further and further up his back, towards his shoulders. His clothes bunch up, stopping me from going any further. He takes his hoodie and shirt off for me, tossing them aside.
Then he tries to take my shirt off too.
I blush. "What are you doing?"
"What do you mean?" He looks at me.
I cover my chest. "I..." I look to the side. "I don't sleep in a bra."
"And?" he asks, unphased.
I give him a disgusted look. "What are you, a pervert?"
He rolls his eyes. "Okay. The shirt stays on."
Damn straight. That's a little too much for tonight. I feel like it's a slippery slope from there.
"But, to be fair." He looks down at me. "I am shirtless."
"Meaning?" I ask.
