Steven seemed to sense something and quickly woke from his nap.
"Zachary, you should see Natasha out."
Zachary moved quickly, closing the distance to Natasha in a few quick strides.
"Mr. Foster, are you really that free today? I thought you had a date?" Natasha remarked with a hint of sarcasm.
Zachary didn't catch her tone, assuming she was just angry. "I canceled it. I thought it'd be a good chance to spend some time with Uncle Steven."
Hearing that, Natasha fell silent. If not for his unexpected appearance, her plan would have already been successful by now.
Although she had used Steven's sympathy to her advantage, there was no other option but to turn to him now.
Three minutes later, Natasha changed her mind and got into his car. "What are you planning to do about Matthew and Nicole's wedding?" she asked indirectly.
Zachary furrowed his brows, sensing the underlying concern in her words. "You don't need to worry about it. Since it's their fault, they need to take responsibility."
Natasha pressed further, "What does Mr. Foster Senior think about it?"
Natasha's tone became more urgent. She remembered the conversation with Julian earlier and formed a rough guess.
"This matter has been fully entrusted to me. Why are you asking about it?" Zachary replied.
Natasha had an idea but then remembered the harsh words she had said to him a few days ago.
"Sorry, I was too harsh the other day. I didn't mean it like that."
When asking for someone's help, it was important to show the right attitude.
Zachary gave a simple response with a grunt but didn't add anything else.
From Zachary's words, it seemed like the one blocking their marriage was Hayden Simon.
Hayden was Steven's second wife, and after their divorce, he never remarried.
Even though they were no longer together, Matthew was still her biological son. No matter how much they tried to sever ties, the bond was not so easily broken.
When Natasha had decided not to pursue her master's degree, it was largely because of Hayden.
"You're a woman. No matter how smart you are, your place will always be at home, supporting your husband and raising children. The knowledge you get from university is all you'll need," Hayden had told her.
For Natasha, this was a sacrifice she made for Matthew. She had given up everything, even her own future, for him.
Now, even though Hayden was abroad, her influence was still strong enough to affect Matthew and Natasha's wedding. This showed just how much Steven indulged her.
